RWANDA : Ruthless APR Silences Marine
by Julius Mbaraga
Kigali
Table leaders APR proved they are still untouchable after a comprehensive 92-65 away win over reigning champions Marine.
The indomitable lions who traveled to Gisenyi with an under-strength side endured nervous moments after having two of their players; Jose-Edward Elongie and Issa Ngoga fouled out.
As the score sheets indicate, it was an all-round team effort display for APR as Mike Buzangu (24), Kami Kabange (21) and Issa Ngoga (20) all chipped in with valuable scores.
It was APR's twelveth win on the trot and with two ties (Rusizi and Basketball United Generation) left in the regular season; the 2006 champions are close to rewriting history.
"We prepared well for the game and it is not shocking that we won," APR 's Cliff Owuor said.
