Thirty thousand US dollars have been released by Angola's African Investment Bank (BAI), to support the younger categories of Benfica do Lubango's basketball discipline, for two years, ANGOP learnt this Wednesday.
According to the outgoing chairman of Benfica do Lubango, Cunha Velho, the amount aims, among others, at the acquisition of material that will be used to boost the club's junior and pre-junior basketball, for males and females.
Basketball in Benfica do Lubango is only played by the females pre-junior category, who have already won two national championships, in 2005 and 2006.
This year, the club started a junior category project which involves thirty athletes in both sexes.
