UGANDA : A-1 Challenge Receive Boost for 10th Anniversary

A-1 Challenge women's basketball side has received a sh2m boost for their ten-year anniversary tournament slated for Saturday at the YMCA courts. Alexander Forbes, an insurance brokerage firm, handed over the package at a ceremony held at the firm's head office in Bugoloobi on Wednesday.
"It is a pleasure to be part of this tournament as this is part of our corporate responsibility," Ismail Balikowa, Forbes clientele relationship manager said. "We shall take keen interest in the event and we want to see the progress of this team." Claire Muhumuza, A-1 Challenge spokesperson, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship and said they are looking forward to a successful two days of quality basketball from top clubs in the country. A-1 Challenge was founded in 1998 with the objective of creating a forum for the promotion of youth development and the dissemination of life skills for the girl child in Uganda.
Five men's teams and five women sides have entered the two-day tournament. The men include Falcons, Knight Riders, Miracle, Warriors and Sadolin Power. The women are MUK Sparks, Amazon Rhinos, MUK Cubs, Victoria Lakers and the hosts, A1.
Other sponsors include NTV, MTV, Mirinda Pineapple, Aptin Media, Kagga Limited, Club Silk and Rwenzori Water.
