TANZANIA : Dar, Mombasa through to semis

Dar es Salaam and Mombasa men`s teams yesterday qualified for the semi finals in the on going Africa Zone V Inter-Cities Basketball tourney.
Mombasa went through after hitting Kampala City Council (KCC) 63-46 in the match played at Dar es Salaam`s Indoor Stadium yesterday.
The Kenyan side were ahead 31-9 until the half time with Dan Foster who scored 18 points and Nelson Njau (16) emerging the top scorers.
The highest scorers for KCC were Akita Helbert (12) and Ssentongo Brain (11).
Dar es Salaam went through after winning all their three games.
They defeated Mombasa 69-59 in their last match played on Thursday evening.
The hosts were yesterday evening expected to play Mbeya in a formality tie.
Other two teams which will join Dar es Salaam and Mombasa in the semis will be known today after the morning matches.
In another development, Mwanza hit Arusha 80-44 in the men`s match played yesterday.
The regional championship will end today.
