CAP VERDE : Santiago South Semifinals
Seven Stars beat Predio CVT 78 to 64 in the second game of the much awaited play off semi-finals of the Santiago South Regional Championship of Basketball.
First the protest from Predio CVT, which took too long to be decided by the Federation, and second the referees going on strike, requesting their delayed payment. In the end, and agreement was reached with the direction of the Association of Basketball for Santiago South, and the games went on.
The game was somewhat balanced in the first period, with Seven Stars taking a slight advantage of 4 points, (18-14), but going into the break the balance continued, and at halftime both teams were tied at 30 points. In the third period, Seven clearly the much better team, pulling away from Predio CVT, and finishing the period with a 15 points lead (57-42). The fourth and final period, saw Seven managing their lead and take the victory, 78 to 64.
The next game, and final game of the semi-finals, is scheduled for next Wednesday. The series is now tied 1 a piece. Predio CVT taking the first game, thanks to the Federations decion to penalize Seven with a forfeit, for using and illegal player.
The winner of the next game on Wednesday will play ABC, they have been waiting for more than a month for the other finalist of the Santiago South Regional Championship of Basketball.
