NIGERIA : I Use Players for Exposure - Okolo

UNILAG Basketball Team Chief Coach, Emmanuel Okolo has said that he deliberately allowed some of his players to play in the Premier League to garner exposure.

Okolo also said that the strategy was aimed at not only marketing them, but to also help prepare them for the World Universities Games.
"With such exposures in the league, the boys are bound to become better players and that makes my job easier. It is an avenue to gain more knowledge which, they would bring into the school's training programmes.
We also want to use the medium to sell the UNILAG team to the World". Okolo, an ex-UNILAG player explained: "the strategy is paying off as some international clubs have indicated interest in some of the boys.
"Scouts follow our premier league and notice these boys, we in UNILAG will eventually become part of the negotiating team to ensure favourable deals for them," he said.
Some of the players in the league include: William Nboumbe (small forward), Christopher Okoh (power forward), and Oluwaseyi Ayodele (shooting guard) and Michael Ohiero (a point guard). (NAN)
