TANZANIA : King's Thump Baptists in Basket Ball Tourney
by Victor Machota
Arusha
Arusha's leading basketball team, Kings thumped Moshi's Baptists 69-49 in a thrilling game played at the Soweto grounds on March 13.
But the Baptists youths in the Under-18 category were a force to reckon with when they walloped International School of Moshi (ISM) 30-21. The Under-18 basketball league was played at the St. Constantine's grounds.
In the youth category, the Baptists clinched the trophy. Baptist's Captain Dennis Simon said their adults team performance against Kings was not up to standard because of inadequate preparations.
Kings captain Elia Mwakabushi said his team was now engaged in daily practice in preparation for the forthcoming clubs league to be held in Tanga towards the end of the month under Kilimanjaro Premium Lager sponsorship
