KENYA : Wareng's Apostles Seal Schools Basketball Title

Wareng's Mother of Apostles Seminary are the new Eldoret regional secondary schools basketball champions.
The new kings thrashed Uasin Gishu High 59-39 in a one-sided inter-schools championships decider played at Moi Girls High School over the weekend.
Dennis Onyango top scored for the winners as they opened a 15-point lead early on which they maintained to clinch a ticket to represent the region at the provincial event next week.
In the semis, they thrashed green horns Kipsangui Secondary 70-23, sounding their intensions of winning the title.

Uasin Gishu, representing Uasin Gishu West, basked in the glory after out-shining former East and Central Africa volleyball champions Paul Boit 40-21 in the other semi-final encounter.
All the 10 regions that were zoned from the larger Rift Valley Province completed their championships last week.
Focus shifts to Kericho next week when the regions will compete for the first time under the new names.
In basketball, giants Dudi Girls' beat Mititi to retain the crown, while Agoro hit Oriwo 22-20 to complete their double. Earlier, Wang'apala had played Oriwo and Agoro squared it out with Ringa in pulsating encounters at the semis.
