UGANDA : Basketball Season Gets Underway

The 7th Stanbic Bank-KKL Basketball season officially got underway at the Aga Khan School over the weekend with the first round of friendly games.
While the games didn't count towards the overall standings, few would have guessed that the kids played great basketball and of course, had a lot of fun.
The day started with the Junior Boys Division and a game between MTN and Total ended up with a score of 14-2 in favour the former. The second game between Eagle Air and Aqua Sipi ended 9-6 in favor of Aqua Sipi.
The Junior girls' category saw True African and Uganda Telecom take to the court in the first fixture. It ended 13-11 in favour of True African.
The second game between Nike Junior and FedEx saw the latter take honours after subjecting Nike Junior to 32-0.
The Mids friendly between Brussels Airlines and AON Uganda excited many. Brussles cruised to a 24-8 victory after battling hard. Fresh Dairy and Alexander Forbes was equally exciting but Fresh Dairy scooped the honours with a 39-10 win.
The seniors games saw Red Bull Girls devour Nike Seniors 24-7. Sprite edged Roofings 5-4 in a low-scoring encounter.
