ANGOLA : Country Receives FIBA Oscar Award
Angola was distinguished Saturday by the International Federation of Basketball Associated (FIBA) in recognition for the success in holding the last African Cup of Nations (Afrobasket2007) and it will receive the highest award of the institution (Oscar del Basket).
According to a communiqué issued by the world's sport-governing body, Angola won "Pietro Reverberi" Oscar Prize for the good work and organising level shown during Afrobasket2007, held last August.
It underlines that Angola is invited to attend the Oscar Awards Ceremony, to be held in Quattro Castella, Italy. The African country was also praised for its qualification to the Beijing Olympic Games 2008 and for the conquest of its ninth African title.
