NIGERIA : Ilupeju Classics: Hoopers maintain clean slate
Defending champion of the Ilupeju Classics, Royal Hoopers basketball club of Port Harcourt Tuesday maintain its hundred percent record when it posted a 51-38 points victory over University of Lagos to remain top of group-B in one of the five matches decided Tuesday at the Ilupeju Sports & Leisure Centre, Lagos.
In another match decided in group-B, Bayelsa Waves defeated hapless Flying Horse by 60-19 points before falling to Coach Emmanuel Okolo tutored University of Lagos team later in the day by a narrow 46-43 points.
Whales continues its beautiful run with a 38-27 points win over Sea Rovers to stay top of group-C while Raptors recorded its first victory with a 39-28 points victory over Panthers enough to secure a quarter-final ticket for the Coach Charles Ibeziako side.
Four matches are on the bill Wednesday as preliminaries games would be wound-up.
In group-A, Warriors Academy will battle Panthers at 10.00 hours, University of Lagos will take to the floor at 11.30 hours against Flying Horse in a group-B pairing, D.D Magic will engage Sea Rovers in the race for a quarter-final ticket in group-C while Bayelsa Waves and Royal Hoopers will entertain the fans in the top-of-the-bill group-B game at 16.00 hours.
