ANGOLA : Coach Covilhã to Remain As Luís Magalhães Aid
Jaime Covilha, with 1º de Agosto, winner of recently held 2007 edition of the African Cup Winners Cup of Basketball for men, is expected to continue as aid to the Portuguese coach, Luís Magalhães, who will lead the group in the next three years.
The information was supplied to ANGOP by the club's director, Fernando Barbosa. According to the official, Covilhã will remain in the team assisting the Portuguese or take a course overseas.
Jaime Covilhã whose contract with 1º de Agosto finish at the end of this season, won six national titles with the team, as assistant of Mario Palma, two African Club of Champion cup, besides various African Cups of Nations under Angolan team.
On both seasons as 1º de Agosto coach (2006/2007) lost the National Championship and Champions Cup to rival Petro de Luanda.
In 2007 he got a gold medal in the Pan-African Games of Algiers (Algeria) with the country's main team.
