SEYCHELLES : Mont Fleuri, RA Sisters and PLS Hawks register victories
MONT FLEURI and RA Sisters collected victories this week, thus strengthening their positions on the Women’s league table. In the Men’s division 1A, PLS hawks shoot to the top of the standings with a win over Angels.
On Monday, RA Sisters collected two more points following their 65-49 victory over Bel Air. After winning the first quarter 15-7, RA Sisters let down their guards thus allowing Bel Air to fight back in the second quarter to conclude the first half on a 26-17 score. In the third and fourth quarters, RA Sisters maintained their lead to win the match 65-49.
Wearing the number 11 jerseys, Joanna Moustache had the hot hands for RA Sisters with 20 points while her counterpart Georgia Désir scored 21 points to top score for Bel Air.
In the other Women’s league match played during the week, Mont Fleuri totally dominated Juniors to register a comfortable 87-33 victory. Mont Fleuri took the first two quarters 17-8 and 20-7 to conclude the first half on a 37-15 score.
In the second half, Mont Fleuri scored 50 more points compared to only 18 for Juniors to guarantee themselves victory.
Lindy Aglaé scored 29 points to finish as Mont Fleuri’s top scorer, while with nine points, Kathleena Pouponeau led the scoring for Juniors.
Meanwhile, in a Men’s division 1A match played on Thursday at Victoria Gymnasium, PLS Hawks beat Angels 97-44 to go top of the standings.
In a men’s Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup match played during the week, RA Herons defeated Bel Air Blazers 76-57 and they will meet Premium Cobras in the next round.
