Mali guard, Hamchetou Maiga was the star-player in her side quarter-final victory over Cameroon Friday at the Ma!ruiss Ndiaye gymnasium, Dakar.
It was a determinate team of Mali led by the WNBA player, Hamchetou Maiga who crushed female team of Cameroon with 31 points margin and got their ticket for the semi final where, they will meet Angola on Saturday 29th September in Dakar.
Mali won in all four quarters with 11-08, 20-10, 25-10 and 19-13 for a final score of 72-41 points win.
The Mali did not leave any one in doubt as to their readiness to carry the day with aggressive style of play as they subdue the Cameroonian in all department of the match.
Nagoumba Coulibaly scored 14 points; Maiga had 13 and 4 assists to her credit, while the duo of Djene Diawara and Fatoumata Bagayoko contributed 11 and 10 points for the enterprising Malian side.
Cameroon point guard, Priscilia Mbianga recorded 11 points; forward Alice Kebeumen had 9 rebounds.
