PROLIFIC shooter Henry Malinga is set to make a forced comeback to lead Mogas Falcons against National Basketball League defending champions Nkumba Marines at Lugogo tonight (8:30pm).

MUST DELIVER: Marines points king Norman Blick

Malinga, the most dependable player on the team, has been out with a knee injury since June 20 but reckons he will play part in tonight's game.

“I have not fully recovered but this a crucial game. I have been training without any difficulty but the doctor will decide whether I should play or not,” Malinga told Daily Monitor.

In his absence, Falcons lost two of their three league games. His comeback is a boost to a team that is in a tight race for play-offs. They are fourth on the table but on level 19 points with Marines (5th).

Though with two games in hand, the record champions need a win to stay clear of Marines, who could bow out of contention if they lose.

In the other intriguing clashes, table leaders UCU Canons face 1997 champions Charging Rhino while KCC Leopards face UCU women.

On Wednesday, Sadolin Power maintained a firm grip on third place after piping Miracle 87-83, KIU Rangers moved joint top of the women's table with KCC Leopards following a 58-40 victory over Amazon Rhino while Crane High edged Makerere Cubs 47-46 in a tightly contested game.
