LIBERIA : Basketball Team Loss Again
The national basketball team of Liberia has lost her third successive matches in the ongoing finals of the African Men Championship taking place in Angola.
Liberia continued her loosing spree Sunday evening when she engaged the Central African Republic in her final Group C match.Liberia fell to the Central African Republic 59-96 points. The team will now travel to the City of Bengula to participate in the placement category of the tournament. The placement category is for those teams who failed to qualify for the quarter final stage of the competition.
Although Liberia lost, some players were outstanding. Mark Smith and Alphonso Kuiah scored 11 points each while Raphael Quaye netted in 10 points.
The draw for the placement took place on Monday and according to the placement draw, Liberia will play Morocco today, Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the city of Bengula. If Liberia fails to beat Morocco the team will automatically be out of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Head Coach of Nigeria MClocolm has said the Liberian team is fast but needs to improve on other aspect of the game. He said if Liberia maintains the team for the next few years it could be a team to reckon with on the African continent.
