ANGOLA : Basketball Federation Wants Collective Reflection On New Pavilions
The chairman of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Gustavo da Conceição, recently in central Huambo province, spoke of the need for a broad and collective reflection on the management of the new game pavilions.
According to the official, the management of the pavilions is an exclusive task of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Minjud)."We have the opinion that perhaps it would be important a broader an collective reflection to see if we can run these pavilions in a way to preserve and use them in favour of the modalities that share these spaces, so that a pavilion like this can serve the youths of the areas where they are built", he said.
Gustavo da Conceição stated there are two aspects involved that should be considered: one related to the management itself and the other linked to its utilisation for sports development projects.
"We have very clear ideas on our basketball development projects and we have another for the expansion of this modality to the various regions of the country. So, this pavilion is an important means for us to elevate these projects to other levels", he said.
FAB chairman stressed that the federation has an opinion on this matter: "But we think that, if we make the collective reflection, we will be able to make a contribute for this pavilion to be truly at the service of the country's youth and of the development of the sporting modalities".
