ANGOLA 2007 : Cameroon stops Cote d’Ivoire 76-56
The Cameroonian team who came to Angola by providence overwhelmed the Ivoires in the first quarter with 20-10 points, but lost the second quarter to the coach Monclar Jacques tutored Cote d’Ivoire side by 20-13 points for halftime scores of 33-30 points.
From the third quarter the Paul Biya men look unstoppable as they rattle the Ivories beating them comprehensively (22-11 and 21-15) for a cumulative score-line of 76-56 points.
Cameroon guard, Patrick Bouli recorded 17 points, 3 rebounds and one assist, forward Gaston Essengue added 16 points 7 rebounds and one assist, as guard Joachim Ekanga had his name on the scorer's sheet with 15 points and 2 rebounds while the duo of Luc Mbah and Brice Vounang contributed 12 and 10 points respectively with Mbah leading the entire floor with 7 assists.
Cote d’Ivoire Ismail N’Diaye led his teammates with 15 points, 2 rebounds and one assists, the Florida University forward recorded 50% from the two point's field goal area 66.7% in three point's field goal and 62.5% from the line, while JDA Dijon Bourgogne basketball club of France guard Souleyman Diabate added 11 points and 3 rebounds.With this hard victory Cameroon will now met Egypt in the semi-finals in the first semi-final on Thursday.
