DAVID Kiberu was man of the match when Charging Rhino shocked Kampala International University (KIU) 57-50 in the first round of the National Basketball League last month.
The center player collected 10 blocks - the highest by a single player in the first round and capped the excellent show with 14 points for his team's second win. Kiberu was the most psyched player as he took control of the paint with several thwarts against Moses Ochan and Orom Makmot.
The former Sadolin Power player is determined to reproduce the same show, when Rhino takes on KIU in their first second round game at YMCA Wandegeya today.
“At the moment, we have no option but to win. We have been training as a team and I am more than ready to help the team register victory,” Kiberu told Daily Monitor on Thursday evening.
“The team is determined to go all the way and I believe KIU is a team we can beat if we put in our best.” Rhino are second last on the 10-man table with 11 points while KIU are sixth on 13. Ronnie Kalule and Mande Juruni were equally instrumental in Rhino's victory and can help the 2000 champions grab maximum points with similar performances.
KIU will be looking up to a rejuvenated Isaac Afidra, who was fouled out in the first round encounter.
In the second division, Livingstone take on Najja High, Crane High are up against Sky Jammers while Vegetarian face table leaders KCC Lions.
