NATIONAL basketball league champions Nkumba Marines yesterday registered the highest score at the Falcons basketball tournament. They walloped Kenyas Parkland Baptist Centre 129-39 at Lugogo.

Norman Blick made a record 43 points while Carol Bisereko added 18 for Marines while Baptists Rodney Genga made nine in a one-sided Pool A game.
On Tuesday, hosts Mogas Falcons had a faulty start following a 80-67 loss to rivals Uganda Christian University (UCU) Canons.

Reliable Henry Malingas absence (injury) could easily be noticed with the Mukono side taking a commanding 54-28 half time score. Eric Malinga made 14 of his 21 points in the last two quarters and Frances Tumusiime made 10 for Mogas Falcons.

Adams Njoroge and Herbert Akitah shared 30 points for Canons, as Jeff Omondi made 10 before he was fouled out.

Kyambogo Warriors lost 82-80 to Burundi's New Star in a game they should have won by a good margin, if charity-line-shy Nelson Wafula had not missed a dozen free throws in the last minute.

In the women's category, Sorrine Kamukazi's last second three pointer sealed Burundi's Les Gazzelle'es 58-55 win over Uganda 's UCU.

The tournament that ends on Sunday, is sponsored by Mogas, Rwenzori, British Airways and Asiatic sports.
