NIGERIA : Champions Nest league enters Semis

The first edition of the Champions Nest basketball league enters its semi-finals stage Wednesday at the popular basketball court of the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja in Lagos.

According to the league coordinator Godwin Unegbe that the aim of the league is to give opportunity to kids who might have the chance to show-case their talents in the Lagos City league or the Nigeria Basketball Federation national competitions.

The former Nigeria forward says it has been pleasing so far as the twelve male teams and five female have been reduced to four as they battle for the grand finale ticket Wednesday at the Police College starting at 14.00 hours Nigeria time.

The former Lagos Islanders and Ebun Comets basketball clubs power forward says Dolphins basketball club feeders team, The Baby Seal will take on Mark Balogun (Assistant Superintendent of Police) Rookies while Hawknets will slug it out against University of Lagos, UNILAG team in the female category.

The battle for the male final ticket will be between Raptors versus Flammers in the first semi-finals and Rookies against Hawks in the second semis while the finals hold Friday at the same venue.
