KENYA : Hapless KU succumb to Co-op Bank
By Dann Owere Kenyatta University lost their eighth Premier League tie in a row when they fell 53-70 to leaders Co-operative Bank of Kenya at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium. Co-op, who have played eight matches and collected 15 points, led 37-30 at the break. At the start of the last quarter, the bankers cruised to a 52-35 margin. The stylish Horace Nyadera led Co-op with 16 points while Cliff Ochieng and Musa Odari each nailed 10 points. Griffin Ligare and Phil Dinga had no answer for Co-op salvos. Yana....85 CDT.....38 Yana shot to the top of womenÕs table with an easy 85-38 win over Catholic Dream Team (CDT). Yana have now amassed 11 points. Judy Akoth and Ruth Wasike were the victorsÕ toast with each posting 15 points in that one sided match. CDT had 13 points apiece from Anastasia Njeri and Everlyn Itabo. Telkom...93 Menonnites.....81 Telkom prevailed 93-81 against Mennonites in a high scoring Divison One match. Ancette Wafula scored 27 points, David Maina 167 and Geoffrey Abuya 14 for Telkom. In an earlier match, Wafula tossed in a record 44 points that included seven three pointers against Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat).
