ANGOLA : US Team To Inaugurate Pavilions
A US professional exhibition basketball team called Globe Trotters will inaugurate all the pavilions that will host the African Cup of Nations (Afrobasket2007), set for for August 15-25 this year, in Angola, ANGOP has learnt.
Speaking to ANGOP, a source with Casa Real sports events firm said the team comprising 18 athletes is expected in Luanda on July 31 and is to visit the other provinces that will host the competition.
The team will also inaugurate 1ยบ de Agosto club`s Rio Seco pavilion, on August 01.
The Globe Trotters team holds shows all over the world. It is made up of black players who became famous for their basketball skills and playful performances during the games.
Participants to the Afrobasket competition are Angola, Rwanda, Morocco, Cape Verde, Senegal, Cote D`Ivoire, Mali, Egypt, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon and South Africa.
