SEYCHELLES : Falcons receive donation from long-time sponsor
POINTE LARUE-BASED Falcons Basketball Club have received a donation of two sets of uniform from their long-time sponsor, Harold Green, who is Seychelles’ Honorary Consul in Alaska.It was Seychelles’ Honorary Consul in Seattle, Lise Church, who made the presentation on behalf of Mr Green to the club’s manager, Nichol Gabriel. The ceremony took place at the Mirabel Night Club at Pointe Larue in the presence of the club management and players.
In her address, Ms Church explained that it was an honour to stand in for Mr Green and present the equipments to the club. She also encouraged the players to stay focused on the game, thus stay on course during the highly competitive season.
For his part, club manager Gabriel thanked Mr Green for his continuous support towards the club and the youth of Pointe Larue in general. He also called on the players to encourage their sponsors by delivering good results and also to maintain a very high standard of discipline at all times.
During the ceremony, the players were also awarded with medals for winning two consecutive promotions to higher divisions in 2005 and 2006.
It is to note that Mr Green’s partnership with the Falcons Basketball Club dates back to 1996 and the past donations have been mostly in the form of basketball shoes.
