NIGERIA : Bullets beat Islanders, Police to 4th place

The regular season of the 3rd Lagos City league came to a close Friday at the Sports Hall of the Lagos National Stadium, Surulere with defending champion, Kennys' Bullets picking the fourth slot ahead of former Nigeria premier league champion, Islanders and Police Bombers basketball clubs.

All three finished the keenly contested regular season with 37 points from 22 matches with the Oladamoye Oyesiku's Bullets placing fourth on technical ground as it defeated Islanders twice (58-56_ and (87-81) while scoring an even with the Mark Balogun tutored Bombers (77-74) and (44-50), but Islanders gained the upper hand over the Police team beating them twice (57-53); (67-64) which gave the young Bullets team coached by former Ebun Comets and Nigeria senior national team, D'Tigers point guard, Ogoh Odaudu the edge.
Union Bank, however, topped the table with 43 points having lost only one game in the 22 games regulagar season, Dodan warriors maintained its second spot despite losing it last two games to Islanders (64-61) and Police Bombers (70-60) OT, Ebun Comets finished in the third position with 39 points while Islanders and the Bombers placed fifth and sixth respectively.

New comer, Chariot basketball club placed seventh with 34 points as it record 12-for-10, young Warriors Academy edged Whales to finish as the eighth best team of the league on superior goals difference and on technical ground having defeated the Whales twice, Sea Rovers, Raptors and the Warriors Kadets occupied the 10th, 11th and 12th position.
