TANZANIA : JKT basketballers bite Tabora Bees
JKT maintained their winning streak in the ongoing Union Basketball League after recording a narrow 44-43 win over Bees of Tabora in a see-saw match at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
The match started at a cracking pace with both teams exchanging quick baskets in turn. The first quarter saw JKT chalking a slim 9-7 lead, before recording a 22-20 lead at the breather.
The nail-biting match picked up even more momentum in the third quarter as the Tabora lads fought hard to a draw level while their opponents aimed at increasing the tally.
However, JKT had an edge above their opponents and counted quick baskets for the scoreboard to read 35-29. In the last quarter the Tabora lads came back rejuvenated, huffing and puffing on the neck o their opponents, which saw them reducing the tally to 44-43 at the final whistle.
