KENYA : WILDCATS Revisited.....UCBL 2007. The Quest Continues

The 2007 Universities and Colleges Basketball League-UCBL came to an end over the Easter weekend at Strathmore University …. With the USIU Basketball teams…..Flames and Tigers reclaiming both the Ladies and Men's championships. The men's finals saw rivals USIU Tigers and KCITI Wildcats face-off in a bigCAT duel that lived up to its expectation of being both entertaining and explosive. We now revisit the KCITI Wildcats Story….The Lost Glory!

For the third year in a row…the Wildcats have been in the UCBL Finals but have failed to recapture the College title….since losing it after a 110-78 loss to the Tigers in game-3 of the 2004 Season. This years league saw the Wildcats under Coach Peter Othoro; a former Wildcats player, field a very strong team with, many seeing them as favourites to clinch the championship. However, things didn't work out for them come the finals as they fell 53-45 to USIU Tigers.

But before the memories of the 2007 UCBL League start to fade….alsaBasketball makes honorary mention of some Wildcats who did KCITI proud this season….. They are Martin Okwako who was named the Most Valuable player…. Collins Ouko…. Lawrence Ndegwa (Despite his frequent outbursts) …… and Joshua Vuva for holdin' court. Big-Up guys.
