ANGOLA : Petro Beat 1º De Agosto in National Tournament "Classic"
Petro de Luanda beat archrivals 1º de Agosto by 106-89, at the number two pavilion of Cidadela Stadium, in a first classic match of the second phase of the 29th edition of the national senior males basketball tournament.
Showing great physical strength and technical-tactic strictness, by halftime Pedro were already ahead by a 10 points margin (54-44).Besides Saturday's defeat, 1º de Agosto is still in advantage in matches between both teams, five victories out of six games.
With this win, the national champions re-launched the fight to retain the title, together with their archrivals who suffer the first defeat this season.
The match was attended by top officials of FIBA-Africa, who witnessed Friday in the Angolan capital, Luanda, the draw of Afrobasket2007 to be played on August 15 to 26 in the country.
