KENYA : NSSSA Finals - St Georges Secondary School 38 vs. Buru Buru Girls 24

St Georges Secondary School defeated Buru Buru Girls 38-24 to lift the Nairobi Province Girls basketball title for the first time. St Georges were off to a superb start, going up 4-0 inside a minute of play after good runs from Grace Kendi and Linda Mfuchi. Kendi proceeded to bag four more points as St Georges outscored Buru Buru 13-06 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw Buru Bur Girls, under Head coach George Mayienga, come out more fired up through Natalie Sakina, Carolyne Osongo, and Mildred Wanjeri, dominating the entire quarter to score 9 points against St George's 2-points to tie the game at 15-15 at the break. On resumption from the break, St Georges regrouped through its magnificent trio of Grace Kendi, Janet Okoth and Linda Mfuchi, as they dominated the paint to reclaim a 25-19 lead at the end of the third quarter. With the championship within rage, Coach Juma Kent 's St Georges, continued with their offensive plays over Buru Buru who seemed to have given up. Valerie Okoth sealed the sweet victory for St Georges with a jumper from the key with five seconds remaining. Grace Kendi Shot 13 points, Janet Okoth 12, and Linda Mfuchi 9 for St Georges, while Natalie Sakina shot 10 points, and Macine Milimu 6 points for Buru Buru.
