ANGOLA : Afrobasket2007 Tops Federation, Luanda Association Meeting

The Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) met Wednesday, here, with the Provincial Association of Luanda (APBL), to analyse, among other issues, aspects relating to Afrobasket2007, to be played next August in the country.

Speaking to ANGOP, the secretary general of FAB, Tony Sofrimento said that the capital city, in the capacity of host of one of the series of the biggest basketball competition in Africa, most of the responsibility has been entrusted to Luanda, similar to the other provinces that will host the competition (Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo and Huíla).Other matters concerning national competitions, regulations and its interpretation, enrolment process, infrastructures' investments, communication between APBL and FAAB, and the training of cadres was also some of the issues debated by basketball experts.

Gustavo da Conceição, chairman of the federation represented FAB and and his staff at the event, whilst Manuel Júnior (chairman) led the delegation of the Provincial Basketball Association of Luanda.
