Basketball in Africa

ALSA Volunteers Program-AVP members were at Kianyaga High School in Kirinyaga District, Central province on Sunday, where they conducted a mini-basketball clinic. The members, Richard Okila, Glenns Etyang, Mildred Akure and Coach Davies, took the students through basic basketball drills that included dribbling, shooting, offense and defensive movement and plays. After the clinic, AVP members had a talk with the students, advising them on both sports as well as academic and social issues before donating a basketball to the team.
The clinic is part of a wider outreach program that is being initiated by AVP, targeting to reach out to basketball communities all over the country.
