CAMEROON : No Stress Basket-ball Tournament Underway

The competition is in the second day of play in Douala and Yaounde.

The basketball competition among some companies in Douala and Yaounde organised by the Mobile telephone network company, MTN, dubbed "No Stress basketball tournament" is in the second day of play. In the Douala conference, CNIC is topping group 'A' with four points. Followed by Total S.A. with three points. Maersk and MTN tail the pool with one point each. In group 'B', VBC Libermann is first with four points also. Mobile Oil is on the second position with three points. TEXACO and Union Bank have one point each. In the Yaounde conference with only one group and six teams, Veterans ENS tops the table with four points. The second is BEAC with four points also but with a 1.06 goal difference.Express Union occupies the third position with 3 points. Same as SNH on the fourth position with a goal difference of 1.01. VBC Old Stars are 5th with two points and CNPS is at the bottom of the table with no point registered in two matches.

The third day of play in the Yaounde conference will be on February 25 at the playground of the University of Yaounde I. While the first two days of play went without qualms in the Yaounde conference, some players were punished for anti sports behaviour and others suspended from the competition. Also the identities of some players will have to be verified before the third day of play to take place on February 25 equally. It would be recalled, the No stress basketball Tournament was organised with the intention to foster friendship ties among workers of the companies concerned. The winner will take home a cash prize of 2.4 million; the runner-up, 1.2 million, 3rd, 600 and 4th, 300 respectively. The competition which began on February 11, will end on March 25 with the final played in Yaounde.
