UGANDA : Tashobya is New FUBA Chairman

KYAMBOGO Warriors' veteran player Ambrose Tashobya was Sunday night elected president of the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA). This was at the club delegates' general assembly held at National Council of Sports (NCS) premises in Lugogo.

Tashobya collected 41 votes to deny John Ssimbwa who polled 15. Ssimbwa managed to highlight his executives' achievements including sending a participant to the FIBA World Baskeball Congress in Tokyo, Japan and defeating Kenya for the fist time in history, but Tashobya seemed to have done enough ground work.
The delegates roundly rejected Susan Kafumbe Mukasa's treasury report, which was not audited, and as a result she did not seek another term, giving way to unopposed Miracle's Chris Kyebambe.

Tom Ocamringa was unopposed for the vital general secretary's post after Elliot Bagenda rejected a move to nominate him for another term.
Peter Kirabo with 30 votes edged fellow referee Peter Wandukwa (29) for the hotly contested organising secretary's post. James Manano is assistant general secretary.
