UGANDA : Tashobya assures team of Kigali trip
NEWLY elected Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (Fuba) President Ambrose Tashobya has pledged to do all that he can for the national teams (men and women) to participate in the Africa Zone 5 qualifiers, due February 3-10 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The former executive has been accused of doing too little for the teams' preparations, but Tashobya, who was elected president on Sunday said he will reverse the rot.
"I don't think it's wise for the teams to give up as yet. Together with my executive, will do our best to make sure Uganda is represented."
Over Shs40m is required for the trip but nothing has been realised yet and very few players showed up for training on Monday, casting more doubts on Uganda's participation.
