TANZANIA : TBF pulls out of Challenge Cup
Tanzania teams have pulled out of the Challenge Cup basketball tournaments which will start on February 3-10 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) secretary general, Laurence Cheyo, said the two teams (men and women) pulled out of the regional championships because of financial constraints.
``We needed 17m/- in order to send two teams to Kigali but we have failed, so we are not going,`` Cheyo said.
He said the championships would now attract teams from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia and hosts Rwanda.
