KENYA : KBF tells off Lions coaches over performance in Lagos

By Dann O’were

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) has told off KCB Lions, saying they had nothing to do with their disastrous showing in the African Masculine Club championships in ihemi challenged the coaches to explain why a player like Lewis Muya was dropped if they were serious with their preparations.
"Did you see the way they played against United States International University on Saturday?" asked Shihemi,.
"Was that a team that was prepared for a tournament of that magnitude?" Lions lost 57-60.
He said KCB were in charge of their own training programme and thus KBF would not come in since it was not a national team assignment.
"If it was the national side, we would come in and advice. But this is a club with its own policies. How would we come in unless we were consulted?" he asked.
He asked KCB coaches to attend many clinics if they were to improve the performance of their team in future instead of apportioning blame elsewhere.
Lions were placed last in 12-team championships, winning only one of their eight matches.
