UGANDA : Fuba elections for Nov.26

The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (Fuba) will hold its elective general assembly on November 26 at Lugogo. Fuba official Yunus Nkutu confirmed the development to Daily Monitor yesterday.

At the assembly, delegates from different clubs and affiliated associations will elect new office bearers for a two-year term. Most delegates however claim that up to now they have not received any communication concerning the general assembly.

Sadolin Power head coach Peter Mubanda has said he will contest for the presidency while players under their umbrella organization, Uganda Basketball Players Association (UBPA) are courting Warriors' Ambrose Tashobya to come in as general secretary.

Other posts up for grabs are vice chairman, organising secretary, treasurer and publicity secretary. All incumbents are expected to seek re-election though they have not publicly declared their intentions.

The current executive has John Ssimbwa as president assisted by Peninah Kabenge. Elliot Bagenda is general secretary, Edmund Lumu organising secretary, Kigozi Kafumbe publicity secretary and Susan Kafumbe treasurer.

Fuba is meanwhile struggling to secure funds for the national team currently in training.
