SEYCHELLES : Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup - Premium Cobras set up semifinal showdown with Baya

THEY’VE lost three times to Baya this year including the Men’s division 1A Top-of-the-table final, but Premium Cobras have said that they want to win the Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup to complete a League and Cup double.

On Tuesday at Victoria Gymnasium, Men’s division 1A League champions Premium Cobras entered the SBF Cup semifinals with an 84-60 win against RC Dynamics and their last-four opponents are Baya who lead 3-2 in the head-to-head record between the two teams this season.

Premium Cobras’ Tanzanian Abdallah ‘Dulla’ Ramadhan led all scores in the quarterfinal match-up with RC Dynamics with 23 points including three treys, while starters Dominic Pillay and Nigerian Reuben Kolawole added 16 and 15 points apiece. Centre Lenny ‘Bad’ Aglaé came off the bench to net 19 points and James Beier added 14, also coming on as a substitute.

Kenneth Domingue tied Dulla’s game-high 23 points to lead RC Dynamics who will be playing 1B basketball next season after finishing at the foot of the eight-team top flight league this year.

The first match of the best-of-three semifinal between Premium Cobras and Baya is scheduled for Friday at 5.15 p.m. at Victoria Gymnasium. Game two is on Sunday November 26 and if the score is tied at one win apiece after the two games, the decider will be played on Wednesday November 29.

The other semifinal series is between MBU Rockers and PLS Hawks. They were to meet in the first match last night, while the second is on Sunday November 26. If needed, the third match will be played on Tuesday November 28.
