SEYCHELLES : Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup - MBU Rockers into last-four stage

MBU Rockers have a date with PLS Hawks in the best-of-three semifinals of the men’s Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) Cup after eliminating Angels on Sunday November 19 at the Palais des Sports.

Coach Alvin Alcindor’s MBU Rockers won 83-72 against Anse Boileau-based Angels who are coached by James Joubert, a former Rocker.

MBU Rockers’ skipper Nigel Sinon led by example with 17 points which was matched by Angels’ David Boniface for a joint-game-high.

Centre Daniel Hoareau added 15 points and Elvis Idrice scored 11 to help the Rockers into the semifinals.

Darren Lesperance netted 11 points including three 3-pointers, and Norcy Agathine made a 10-point contribution in Angels’ loss.

The first match between MBU Rockers and PLS Hawks is Wednesday November 22 at Victoria Gymnasium and the second has been programmed for Sunday at the same venue.

Trophy less PLS Hawks got 31 points from Ugandan Stephen Omony as they laboured to a 69-65 win against SMB Razorbacks.

Baya, who had five players scoring in double figures – Dave Roseline (24 points including three 3-pointers), skipper-of-the-day Michael Cupidon (24 points), Robert Léon (17 points), Bernard Cherry (15 points) and Giovanni Laval (13 points) – in their 105-63 quarterfinal win against Cascade Bullets to make to the last-four stage, will only know their semifinal opponents today when Premium Cobras play RC Dynamics.
