KENYA : KCB Lions are knocked out of Africa club competition

Kenya Commercial Bank Lions bowed out of the Africa basketball club championship when they crushed 95-54 to Petro Atletico of Angola in their last preliminary round tie in Lagos on Wednesday.

As a result, KCB Lions finished fifth in the six-team Pool 'A' with four losses and only one win (69-67) against whipping boys Back of Guinea.
Petro Atletico topped Pool 'A' with an unbeaten record. The Angolans beat Back of Guinea 105-62, defeated Zenith of Cote d' Ivoire 85-37, hammered Congo's Inter-Club 96-75 before beating the Lions.
Host teams Plateau Peaks and Dodan Warriors won their last matches to earn a ticket to today's quarter-finals. Plateau Peaks beat Africa Sport of Cote d' Ivoire 84-67 while Dodan Warriors rocked Congo's Inter-Club 87-78.
Another Angolan side, Primero de Agosto also topped in Pool 'B'. They beat ABC of Cote d' Ivoire 97-53, hit ASB Onatra of DRC 92-53, crossed a century mark with a huge 101-47 victory over Africa Sports of Cote d' Ivoire and also demolished hosts Plateau Peaks of Nigeria 88-59.
