UGANDA : UCU pips Heaters in playoff opener

UGANDA Christian University pipped Makerere Youth Heaters 66-55 in game one of the Yello Go basketball conference playoffs on Saturday.
Peter Senfuka scored 13 points and Robert Mugabe added 10 as UCU, playing in its first-ever playoffs, inched closer to securing promotion to the Yello Max conference league next season.
Geoffrey Omondi had nine points in the fourth quarter as the Mukono-based team outscored Heaters 15-09 to push its lead to 11 points at 66-55.
The victory pushed UCU’s MTN basketball league winning streak to 19 consecutive victories after finishing the second round undefeated. They are favourites to become this year’s Yello Go champions.
