UGANDA : Power Faces Nkumba in Yello Max Final
NKUMBA Marines secured a second consecutive finals date against Sadolin Power after halting Falcons in the semi-final on Monday.
Salim Ali and Donald Blick made 13 and 12 points respectively as the national basketball defending champions cruised to a comfortable 66-53 victory in the decisive semi-final third game of the Yello Max Conference.
Marines, who defeated Power 3-0 in the best-of-five finals last year, justified their title-winning ambitions by limiting Falcons to a few missed outside shots.
Man-of-the-match Karol Bisereko collected 11 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and three steals for Marines.
Marines led 29-20 at half time and increased that margin with a 37-33 burst in the second half.
Sam Obol scored 12 points and Henry Malinga added 11 for the Falcons, who tripped at the penultimate stage yet again.
In the women's semi-final, Judith Akoth and Frances Nabulobi scored 18 points apiece for Lady Bucks as they advanced to the final. Lady Bucks will play KCC Leopards in the women's final.
