CHARGING Rhinos and MTN basketball league title holders Nkumba-Marines will renew their rivalry when the play-off qualification battles continue today at the YMCA courts.

The two sides have had challenging battles over the past two seasons with the champions avenging a 2005 second round 76-73 loss by defeating the Rhinos 81-79 in the first round encounter in June this year.

Rallying behind Alex Ochola and David Kiberu, 1997 champions Rhinos, are hopeful progressing into a better position on the table with a victory today.

Rhinos are placed fifth on the Yello Max table standings, and could make headway to the fourth and final play-off berth with a commanding victory today.

Upon his return from injury, Rhinos’ Robert Ndamagye will be charged with the unenviable task of stopping the MVP and Marines’ Norman Blick while Mandy Juruni, Ronnie Kalule and Hamza Nyambogo will have to contest Marines’ shooting trio of Albert Aciko, Donald Blick and Boniface Okello.

Elsewhere, Uganda Christian University (UCU) hosts Jinja-based Sky Jammers at Mukono as Crane High takes on Flippers in an earlier game at the YMCA.
