According to KBF chairman, Agina Wesonga, continental body secretary Alphonse Bile will preside over the meeting. Bile will arrive in Kenya from South Africa where he is attending the under 18 championships.

"Bile said he would personally attend the meeting and we are waiting for his word," said Agina, adding that "so far Aluanga is the only candidate to have declared his interest."

The elections were pushed from Burkina Faso as only two member states Kenya and Eritrea attended. Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Somalia have been invited.

Aluanga, who is also the chairman of the East and Central Africa Confederation, expressed confidence that he would sail through.

Meanwhile, Prof. Allain Ekra from Ivory Coast was elected unopposed to run the continental body for another four-year term. His sole opponent, Berraf Mustapha from Algeria, stepped down. Also re-elected was Bile also from Ivory Coast. The treasurer is Abd El Hamid Masoud from Egypt.
