THE Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (Fuba) technical committee is set to divide the women's division of the MTN sponsored league into two conferences.

Technical committee Chairman Yusuf Nkutu told Daily Monitor that the ten teams will be grouped according to their performance after the first round of the ongoing league.

"We are aiming at creating competition that will improve the women's basketball in the country," Nkutu said.

According to the arrangements, the first five finishers on the table will form the top super women's league conference while the last five will be named lower division.
The super conference sides will also race for the crown and against relegation while the last five will struggle for promotion to the top.

Kampala City Council (KCC) Leopards is in pole position on maximum points from 6 games, followed by Makerere Sparks and defending champions A-I Challenge who have gathered 11 and 10 points respectively.

Former champions Lady Bucks are trailing in seventh position with 7 points but have played fewer games (4) than other teams.
