UGANDA : KIU only hurdle in Sadolin bid
By Gloria Kyomugisha
YMCA Court Flippers v Crane High Lady Bucks v Cubs SPENA v Bush Court Vegetarians v K/Riders KIU v Sadolin Power Jinja SS Court Flammers v KCC Lions Jammers v UCU Mukono SADOLIN Power has a chance to go top of the Yello Max Conference when they play Kampala International University (KIU) in today’s MTN basketball league.
The former league champions have only lost twice in seven games, and are lying fourth with 12 points behind Marines, Falcons and Warriors on the table.
With point guard Ken Balyejusa maturing into a better ball distributor and an accurate three-point shooter, Power’s scoring averages have improved and seem poised for a resounding win against the student team.
Power will not only rely on their guard rotation that includes Balyejusa, Marvin Keronga, Sam Ssebadduka and Charles Dismus, but will also be boosted by a lot of in-depth plays from their front court players Wilbrod Oketcho, Micheal Kariuki, Kasamba and Julius Wapera.
KIU, who are languishing in seventh place on the table, are also expected to be at full strength, and anything less than a victory will be disappointing for the team that is well aware that they are running out of time.
Motivation from Emma Baguma, Makmot Orom, Isaac Afidra and Jeff Mwaniki should give Nimrod Kaboha’s club a fighting chance to revisit the glory days.
