MIRACLE Basketball team finished the MTN Yello Max conference first round in style after stunning hopefuls Charging Rhino 62-55 on Saturday at YMCA courts.
Rhino had taken a 29-17 first half lead but the Rubaga side took advantage of a technical lapse by the 1997 champions to pick a strong 28-09 third quarter score propelled them to victory.
Raymong Bukenya and veteran Chris Kyebambe made 13 and 12 points, while Ben Komakech added 11 as they moved to sixth position with 13 points.
Rhino who missed the services of Diego Angiemi's had Richard Okila make 11 points.
Meanwhile, Kyambogo Warriors enjoyed a night on top of the table after their 68-43 win over visiting Gulu Hawks took them to 16 points.
In the women's category, Lady Bucks work horse Flavia Okecho and new signing Sarah Namiro made 11 and 7 points respectively as the former champions maintained their supremacy over Makerere Sparks with a 38-36 low scoring win.
Amazon needed Angella Lukidi's last second basket to beat Makerere Cubs after playing an over time following a 36-all normal time score. Crane High walked over Kyambogo Comets who did not show up.
