THE relentless offensive rebounding of Amazon Rhinos helped them complete a 50-41 defeat of Crane High in an MTN basketball league game played at Nakasero courts.
Angela Lokidi and Florence Nanyonga combined for four offensive rebounds in the final two minutes as Amazon rallied for a second season victory.
Lokidi and Nanyonga scored 10 points apiece for Rhinos, who held an 18-4 edge on the offensive boards.
Crane High looked like they would run away early, building a 10-point edge in the second quarter, but Amazon, rallying behind Sarah Shaban’s 15 points, fought to tie the game at 33-33 four minutes into the second half and the battle raged on.
Nanyonga gathered offensive rebounds on each of Amazon Rhinos’ next three possessions, getting fouled thrice and converting three free throws for an eventual nine-point lead.
Immaculate Chocho collected 8 points for Crane who succumbed to their third consecutive loss.
