GAMBIA: GBF Meets Players' Committee Tuesday
The Gambia Basketball Federation (GBF) will meet with the newly formed players' committee prior to the commencement of the national basketball league season, a press release from the Gambia Basketball Association has stated.
According to the release, that was signed by Ms Mariama Jobarteh, the secretary-general of the federation, the basketball federation will have the meeting with the players' committee on Tuesday, May 16, at 6.00pm at Banjul City Council (BCC) offices, to discuss salient points before the kick off the mouth-watery championship. The sole aim of setting up of the players' committee, according to the release, is make sure the committee works hand-in-hand with the federation on issues geared towards the development of basketball in The Gambia.
The release added: "The players' committee has been set up in which two players represent each team in the committee. The newly born committee has held two subsequent meetings during which matters of great concern and importance were tabled and thoroughly discussed, In this regard, the committee has decided to have a meeting with the federation before the commencement of the season." the release states.
