ZAMBIA: Barclays Magic take on Newspaper Direct

THE Zambia Dairy Processors basketball league enters week six with Barclays Magic taking on Newspaper Direct Heroes today at the National Sports development Centre.

And a team from Livingstone has applied to join the Zambia Basketball Association league.

Heroes, a team that has already dropped points against UNZA Pacers and Green Eagles, will fancy its chances against a Magic side that is living on the memories of past glory and not current form.
Magic have Kalaba Katebe, Newman Muyatwa, Jimmy Kansuma and Chris Kabongo to record a famous win against their rivals.
Despite the name change following new sponsors, Heroes will need to dig deep to salvage their pride in this match and turn their season around.

And in a ‘Cain and Abel’ fixture, NAPSA Hurricanes take on its reserve side Junior Hurricanes in the opening match of the day.
NAPSA Hurricanes, the national champions, may not even have to break a sweat against their juniors.

UNZA Pacers, on cloud nine after their win over Heroes last week, play Green Buffaloes.
Buffaloes were winners last week posting a half-basket victory over LCC Looters.

Pacers will seek motivation from their 64-57 demolition of Heroes and believe that they can record their third straight win this season.
With Ntilila Chaila, Chisanga Mwila, Bwalya Mazzuki and Sipho Nakalowa playing some of their best basketball, the Buffaloes team of Cletus Nkandu, Chipo Inyama Dexter Mwikisa and Charles Zulu will need more than just experience to get full points.

Another fixture will see Green Eagles take on Lusaka Kings while in the women’s league, National Champions Nets play UNZA Honeys.
Meanwhile, ZBA general secretary Mwembe Kaonga has said Police Hookers, a team from Livingstone, has indicated readiness to compete in the ZDPA-sponsored league.
